CHAPTER ONE
1.1 INTRODUCTION
There were three fundamentally distinct education systems in Nigeria in 1990: the indigenous system, Quranic schools, and formal European-style education institutions. In the rural areas where the majority lived, children learned the skills of farming and other work, as well as the duties of adulthood, from participation in the community. This process was often supplemented by age-based schools in which groups of young boys were instructed in community responsibilities by mature men. By the 1970s, education experts were asking how the system could be integrated into the more formal schooling of the young, but the question remained unresolved by 1990. Western-style education came to Nigeria with the missionaries in the mid-nineteenth century. Although the first mission school was founded in 1843 by Methodists, it was the Anglican Church Missionary Society that pushed forward in the early 1850s to found a chain of missions and schools, followed quickly in the late 1850s by the Roman Catholics. In 1887 in what is now southern Nigeria, an education department was founded that began setting curricula requirements and administered grants to the mission societies. By 1914, when north and south were united into one colony, there were fifty-nine government and ninety-one mission primary schools in the south; all eleven secondary schools, except for King’s College in Lagos, were run by the missions.
The education system focused strongly on examinations. In 1916 Frederick Lugard, first governor of the unified colony, set up a school inspectorate. Discipline, buildings, and adequacy of teaching staff were to be inspected, but the most points given to a school’s performance went to the numbers and rankings of its examination results. This stress on examinations was still used in 1990 to judge educational results and to obtain qualifications for jobs in government and the private sector.
As more information is made available in a variety of formats and media and in a variety of locations, the need to manage information/data efficiently becomes more and more critical. Both staff and public users want access to stored information and want to access it more efficiently. It is the University Policy to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of course registration and result processing operations and services through the implementation of an integrated automated database System.

ABSTRACT
The world over, it is indisputable that the introduction of computer technology in different facts of life has virtually transformed and entranced information processing, while is very vital in any organization or parastatals of government only a means of information processing, has the technology also proved to be the fastest means of information retrieval, which forms the nucleus of the study.

This work tries tox-way the rate role of the computerized security information system as it affects the Nigerian police force, it looks at ways of improving the information management of the force. This research work will cover the following area record information system retirement creating for officers and crime mapping through a data bank of crime related information. A detailed design of a computerized approach that will bring the much needed innovation is given. Also included in this work is paper documentation for the neo system design.

ORGANIZATION OF WORK
This project work is organized in seven chapters. Chapter one begins with an introduction of the project, a brief statement of the problem, the purpose of the study. It explicitly outline the aims and objectives. Also eh scope limitation and constraints are also discussed. It ends finally with definition of terms. Chapter two is specifically dedicated to literature reviews pertaining of project work. Chapter three of the project is documented. The objectives of the existing system are highlighted, and the input, process and output analysis discussed the information flow diagram is shown, and the problems of the existing system and the justification for the system discussed. Chapter four discussed mainly the new system design, the output specification and design and design and file design are respectively highlighted, also the procedure chart and system flowchart is illustrated. It closes with the system requirement.

Chapter five discusses the implementation of the new system. The program design, which consists of the program flow charts and the corresponding pseudo codes, are al highlighted. The source program for the new system. Chapter six finally closes with recommendation and conclusion. Attached to this work are the police (Federal Intelligence and Information Bureau) organization structure, the input and output forms of suspect confirmation the references made to during research work are highlighted.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Information Technology (IT) has set world order turning the world a global village, where information plays an indispensable role.
The federal security information (police) is a special outfit of the Nigeria police force, as a role similar to that of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Intelligence) of the United States (US) information they say is an indispensable force and if we should go by this meaning it buttressed the need at which classified information is to this outfit.
Over the years this outfit had made tremendous impact in combating crime, but in recent times, there has been an advance of crime wave in the country leading to insecurity of life and properties close investigation concerning crime activities reveals that the special outfit of he police force is bedeviled with absolute equipment.

Despite the glint strides taken by this outfit over the years changing their investigation and recording equipment to tape storage cassette as recorders, there are still a lot of surmountable problem which has litterto, reduced eh efficiency bureau, Ogbor-Hill, Aba and other division of the outfit through out Nigeria. The panacea to this may no doubt, le in the introduction of a property designed computer base system which will bring the much desired automation hence a prerequisite for being a member of the world order vis-a-vas information technology.

1.1   STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The statutory duty of the federal security and information bureau (police) is crime prevention and intelligence network while is solely based on information. This information received from conducted investigation, which should be supplied to the bureau within minutes using electron communication. But the take days or weeks and sometimes months if the investigation is carried in a distance area. The storage medium currently at disposal for information is susceptible to unauthorized access and damage.
Most often, the recorded information is usually not within eh reach when needed. Going by this high level of graft in the country officers can easily remove recorded information of every serious crime activity by mere bribe often. In view of eh above problems which have attracted the author’s attention, his unequivocally decided to design a computer base system which will correct this abnormalities.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this project is to design a cash receipt generation system for a supermarket taking into consideration their stock, sales and purchases in view of achieving the an automated receipt printing thereby dropping the manual receipt issued by shop owners during transactions.
This will go a long way in eliminating mismanagement and maintaining a higher degree of accuracy and more reliability in the business transactions.  The software developed was implemented using Visual Basic 6.0.

                        CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

1.1     Background of the Study
When the amount of data grows in a company, there is a need for a database system to store the data regularly. The need for an art gallery database includes storing data information, sales information for monthly reports.
This project presents the development of data management systems for holding cash information like the products sold, monthly flow of cash, and balance sheet information for the month. All this will be explained in detail in the following chapters. The objective is to design a data management system that can store information like art work, and sales information.
In developing the database system, there will be a need to decide what the best tools are for this. The client selected Microsoft Access and Visual Basic, since they were familiar tools she works with. In order to achieve these goals, important questions that are asked include what is the information that will be stored in the database, how many tables will be needed and how will these tables relate to each other. These are some good points to note when designing a cash register.
The Microsoft Access is where the work begins, it includes creating the models for each table in the database, analysing the content of the tables, designing the User Interface that the client will use to input data information into the database. The Visual Basic  will be used for creating dynamic interaction in the database, like generating the receipt reference number for each customer that buys goods, and wants make the payment online.

1.2     Statement of the Problem
The problem and inadequacies inherent in the manual receipt issued by shop keepers,  and sales control system in business transactions, where many items are involved, the manual cash receipt system becomes tedious and big to handle.  Error inherent in manual calculation and balancing of sales leads to excessive cost operation and hence may lead to wrong decision taken by the managers of a business firm.

1.3     Purpose of the Study
This purpose of this study is to design an online cash receipt generation system for supermarkets.

ABSTRACT
Simulation as scientific process involves critical analysis and initiation of the real life of events using an electronic device, especially computer system and networking.
The feature grasps the utilization of these processes and transforms the stable system into acceptable or intended result.
After having viewed the constraints in series of activities in banking sector in the country, an attempt was made regarding utilization of the works computer system and network connection do understanding this concept an earlier attempt recalls the designing a new system that can resituate banks workers from the slumber working equipment (Manual System).
Realization this in the First Bank Nigeria Plc calls for analyzing an old system of money transfer forming Electronic Fund Transfer.  This excludes special software that is unbreakable in feature that can run the organizational fund transferring system. However in the security system the program contains more security features that enables banks workers to determine the owner of the fund transferred.
Having seen and observed this system towards developing safer and easier method of fund transfer yield more effort and zeal in to the analysis of this system to sound academic pursuit in institute of management and technology.  Perhaps this calls for implementation.

ORGANISATION OF WORK
This study has been organize in seven different chapters.
Chapter trashed out the statement of the problem background of the study, purpose of the study its aims and objectives, scope or delimitation, limitations or constraints, assumptions and definition of terms
Chapter two review of related literature while chapter three dealt with the description and analysis of the existing system.  The fact finding method used, organizational structure, objectives of the existing, system input process, output analysis information flow diagram, problems of the existing system and justification for the new system.
Chapter four presented the design of the new system.  Its output specification and design, file design procedure chart, system flowchart and system requirements.
Chapter five looked into the implementation the program design program flowchart, pseudocode, source program and test run.
Then chapter six was the documentation.
Chapter seven, this is for recommendation and conclusion and reference comes last.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0     INTRODUCTION
Electronic fund transfer system is an organized process of transferring fund through electronic means by the use of computers where debit and credits are made into ones account.
Having gone to First Bank Nigeria Plc, as one of the Commercial Banks that has ventured in Electronic Fund Transfer (ETF).  The system allows a customer account to be credited electronically within 24 hours anywhere in Nigeria it provides a more suitable and cost effective way of transferring fund when compared with the traditional means such as mail transfer and telegraphic transfer.
It is mere secure and time is saved when money is transferred through the Electronic fund transfer such money (fund) is transferred electronically by the bank through their accredited Branches or Agents.
Anybody in one of the state of a particular country who wishes to release fund to a client residing in other part to different state of some country will go to the nearest bank, that is nay first bank that does the fund transfer system and makes his or her deposit.
It will be available for payment within minutes from any part of the country, if one is to send fund through the system (in the event of its being introduced) as soon as the fund control number (F.T.C.N) is displayed on the screen.  This is an indication that the fund is now available for collection.

FEATURES
The system is designed to handle the needs of fund transfer, customers and agents in an efficient and user – friendly manner.
The new and experienced ones can use this work its document the software works following the flow of transaction as they usually occur.  The money that link system provides frameworks within various relationships among state operating it.

1.1     STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS
Fund transfer is a job, which involves complex data and tedious calculation.  Human beings cannot execute the job very urgent and faster, that is why the need for the activities of transferring fund automatically.
Manual transfer wastes too much time and it is generated very late, where there are many customers to attend to, it takes weeks to prepare the transfer which may affect the purpose of the transfer.
Some are short paid and thus makes the system unreliable.
The use of files, papers and file cabinet cost much and occupies much space.  It also wastes a lot of time during information retrieval.

1.2     PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Generally the purpose of the study is to find out a way towards enhancing better method which will be geared towards alleviating the frustrations customers undergo in a bit to collect fund credited to their account.  This is because instead of waiting for months, the entire transaction can be finished within a minute.
In addition, the offices in charge of the fund transfer will gain from this study because the problems they are facing have been detected and solution recommended.  The new and processing storage of data and generation of report required by the management for decision-making and perhaps for the development of the organization.
