ABSTRACT
This project work focused on the design and implementation of a system for processing student’s ID – card. The study investigates the ID –Card processing export system as a tool for revolutionized computer profession. It concentrates on how improved representation of processing knowledge and problems solving strategies have advanced the field of artificial intelligence in computer. The system generally involve mainly the manual process and it was dispensed under the following process: when students visits the processing department for the purpose of ID – Card there personal data are endured in the record and they will be asked to leave and back in some day or weeks to collect their processed ID-Card. The researcher investigate the manual system in detail with the view of finding out the need to automate it. Happily, the finally result of the processing export system was it’s ability to produce on – the- spot or wait and take processed Id-card by processing the input data and provide summary of the ID-Card process for a particular student.

1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
In examination of the main processing techniques used in ID-Card processing system from the stage of data processing system to end stage of the processed ID-card a number of problem area are made know, which are as follows.
It has been noted that for students to of management and technology (IMT) Enugu, they queue up for several hours from one unit of the processing center to the another with the manual processed involved in handling the students ID-Card process, most of them waste the whole day in the processing center without getting their ID-Cards. So students do waste a lot of time in taking information and retrieving the student’s records.

1.2 AIM OF THE STUDY
In looking at the already mentioned problems that is nationally parts of the conventional system, the aim of the study is to provide the description ID-Card processing system for student’s information with users who has had a little communication with computer sciences.
The purpose of this study is not to replace record employees, but to assist them to

INTRODUCTION
Until recently, the posting of graduated student of higher institution was done manually and thi have had some negative effects on the coppers.
For instance, the delay in the manual posting of a copper may manual system of postings, data on which routine and time consuming this is because of the volume of data on which routine task performed is relatively very large. This results in inaccuracy and slow processing. The data that is being manupulated must be reliable and this requires a reliable system. This intensifies the need to provide a sophisticated machine that will help in the processing for convenience.
The system with its advanced features in storage processing and retrieval make this processing very easy.
With the aid of the computer system retrieval and editing and of documents and all problems of the manual processing will be a thing of the past

1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This project was titled the “design and implementation of a computerized N.Y.S.C “ posting system” is aimed at entrancing the process of posting of graduating student of higher institution to service. The processes involved in the process is still being done manually and manual way of posting has some negative effects as follows:
1. The manual system makes retrieval of stored information very slow and difficult
2. Usually duty is labour intensities and time consuming. This is because the volume of data on which task are performed is relatively very large.
3. There may be omission of information

BACKGROUND OF THY STUDY
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Cartography is study and practice of making maps or globes. Maps have traditionally been made using pen and paper, but the advent and spread of computers has revolutionized cartography.
Most commercial qualities maps are now made with map making software that falls into one of the three main types, CAD, GIS AND specialized map illustration software.
Maps functions as visualization tolls for spatial data. Spatial data is acquired from measurement and can be stored in a database from which it can be extracted from a variety of purposes. Current trends in this field are moving away from analog methods of map making and towards the creation of increasingly dynamic, interactive maps that can be manipulated digitally.
The cartographic process rest on the premise that the world is measurable and that we can make reliable representations or models of that reality. Map making involve advanced skills and attitudes, particularly the use of symbols to represent certain geographic phenomens, as well as the ability to visualize the world. In an abstract and scaled down form.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The present system of cartographic system of Nigerian population commission has a lot of problems, which are mentioned below.

ABSTRACT

Sales forecasting is a common activity in most companies affecting operations, marketing and planning. Little is known about its practice. Mentzer and his colleagues have developed a research programme over twenty years aimed at rectifying the gap in knowledge most recently, in the mentzer et al (2002) paper they have demonstrated with supporting evidence the use of a sales forecasting audio to establish the dimensions of best practice. In this commentary on the paper, the methodology underlying their approach is examined from a number of different perspectives. The commentaries examine how convincing and complete has been the choice of audit dimensions as well as how this new research fits with evidence from other sources both commentators and respondents agree that the topic is important to organizational practice and more research is needed to gain a complete picture of the sales forecasting function and the systems that support it. Clarifying the audit function is particularly important since sales forecasting often has a low organizational profile until events turn sour with damaging consequences to organizational viability.

INTRODUCTION
Any visit to a company that relies on sales forecasting in its operations or marketing confirms that the most important aspect of forecasting for those with organizational forecasting responsibilities is not simply the choice of approach but something much more fundamental how the forecasting activities, the information system and the people who produce and use forecasts inter-relate. Increasingly I and other researchers have seen the gap between theory and practice in forecasting as an outcome primarily of organizational complexities and priorities (Mahmoud et al 1992) rather than a stubborn refused of practioners to recognize the superiority of the latest methods found in the forecasting literature the article submitted by mark moon, Tom Mentzer, and Carlo Smith on “Conducting a Sales Forecasting Audit”. It was rare contribution towards understanding just what goes right and wrong in the sales forecasting. Because it explored new ground in forecasting research (although others had visited particular questions earlier) I thought its influence on both forecasting practice and forecasting researchers would be more substantial if some key aspects of the arguments were held up to the light and picked apart. I therefore asked the referees of the article and other researchers who have argued for the importance of behavioural research in forecasting to comment on the assumptions and methods used by Moon, Mentzer and Smith, in particular highlighting areas where future research should prove most productive. What follows are comments by Stuart Bretschneider, Fred Collopy, Micheal Lawrence, Doug Steward and Heidi Wink – Ihofer together with a response from the authors themselves. I and the editors of the journal would welcome further research contributions that examine how organizations go about the task of improving the forecasting function.

ABSTRACT
Most often, the printing of very important and computer reports have been stopped midway owing to some minor faults on the computer/printer system. At times, due to the complexity of the faults some maintenance find it difficult beginning to perform detailed diagnosis due to lack of specialized equipment, some of which are available only to a few big firms due to their high cost of acquisition.
As the case may be, some of those faults may be such that will require a very fundamental knowledge of printer maintenance, making use of minor tools. Once the actual causes are identified.
This project “EPERT SYSTEM ON TROUBLE – SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE OF EPSON PRINTER” shooting and maintenance information for non-computer/printer engineers.

ORGANISATION OF THE WORK
This work is organized into seven chapters.

INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The impact of engineering age is tremendous and its arrears of application are increasing geometrically. It is believed that the information revolution will radically change the nature and quality of engineering work in the near future.
Some of the most exiting arrear of the information technology includes.
– Office automation and computer publishing
– Just-in-time (J.I.T) production techniques to reduce cost and improve quality.
– Electronic shopping and electronic funds transfer
– Computer controlled commuter train system
– Decision support system (DSS) that facilitate real time control of making under battle field condition typically characterized by uncertainty
– Computer aids to the handicapped including intelligent implants and experts for medical diagnosis.
– Computer aids instruction (CAI) and aided manufacturing.
Due to all these mentioned arrears of computer application and more, computer has now been accepted and used by so many organizations, by individuals for various purposes. It is believed that computer is an agent, which improves productivity, enhances competition.
It is however worthy to not that 75% of all computer application generate documented information. This is why it is said that had copy is the spice of information.
Computer generates printed report for adequate circulation and communication. This underlines the importance of printers in computerized operations and environments.
Considering the increasing number of which malfunction ‘vis a vis’ while the scanty availability of maintenance experts, these is no doubt that may important and urgent reports are either frustrated permanent or produced too late to serve their purpose. It therefore become very imperative to develop this EPSON printer troubleshooting and maintenance expert system which will guide a non-expert through step by step approach to troubleshoot and maintain his EPSON printer.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
When printers malfunction, it is often difficult tracing the causes of such malfunctions with respect to identified symptoms. Often, some of these faults are so minor that virtually every user is supposed to be able to handle them effectively without having to undergo the rigours of finding maintenance experts. In many occasions, the defects are perfectly eliminated by clearing the edge connectors and resisting the plugs and printer interface cards. Some diagnostic software such as Qapuls could also help in locating the causes of the problem.
However, the ne
